Kyoto and Osaka

After my visit to the ultra modern Tokyo we got on a bus to Kyoto, the old capital of Japan.  The capital city was moved from Kyoto to Tokyo.  The population is about 1.5m people and you do notice it is much less crowded on public transports.  There are noticeably more tourists in Kyoto than in Tokyo.  There are also a lot more older buildings in Kyoto and wasted no time visiting them.

After a few days in Kyoto, it was off to relatively modern Osaka before returning home.  Osaka has a mixture of old and new that is typical of Japanese cities.  It is much more of a mini Tokyo.  Here are a few more photos that sums it up.

Overall, Japan has amazing photographic opportunities for photographers who wants to capture something that is different to western countries.  It have a mixture of old and new.  Also it is a safe, clean and organised country.  Definitely worth a visit.
